Welcome to j.hart Fitness!

My name is Jeff Hartford. I am a lifelong fitness enthusiast and athlete. As a professional Personal Trainer, learning and sharing my knowledge to help others in their fitness journey is fun and exciting, and it's what I do on a daily basis. It’s rewarding to work with my clients every day and see their progress. That’s what keeps me motivated. To show people what they’re truly capable of when given proper guidance and encouragement.

I have been a Personal Trainer for over 12 years, having attended Plymouth State University for Physical Education from 1999-2003. I hold multiple certifications from NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine); CPT (Certification for Personal Trainers), CES (Corrective Exercise Specialist), and PES (Performance Enhancement Specialist).

More recently, I opened my own Massage Therapy practice 7 months ago. After training for 2 years at the Hudson Valley School of Massage I earned my NYS-LMT (New York State - License for Massage Therapists). I practice out of the Feldman Physical Therapy offices at Gold's Gym, Fishkill, NY. Call me or click here to book a post-workout massage; discounted rates for Gold’s members.

I’m currently running a group fitness program, j.hart Fitcamp, open to all levels of ability. Classes are held 3 days a week; Monday and Friday at 5:30pm and Sunday at 8:00am. Members have affectionately referred to this group as "The Tribe”. It's not about any one individual but about picking each other up. We follow a basic structure focusing on: movement prep/warm-up, core, cardio, strength circuit and a yoga influenced stretching cool down. Activities and exercises vary greatly and are sure to challenge both your strengths and weaknesses making you a well rounded healthy "athlete”. Learn more and sign up for j.hart Fitcamp here.

The intent of this blog is to educate, motivate and inspire, all while having fun! I want to share valuable information that I’ve gained through my experiences with health and fitness. We all know there are distractions every day that can get in the way of our health, wellness, fitness, you name it... In fact, as I sit here and type this my son Jacob is seeking my attention SO, I’ll leave you with that. The next post will follow soon!
